by | Aug 17, 2019 | Announcements, Dean's Corner

With the new academic year underway, we want to share this special parents’ edition of our Fulbright REVIEW blog roundup to help you and your family stay connected to all of our amazing University of Arkansas’ J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences news and happenings!

Be sure to subscribe so you can continue to go behind the scenes and connect more deeply to Fulbright College and those who are its heart and soul.

Then, you’ll get the Fulbright REVIEW delivered each month, and it will be jam-packed full of stories highlighting student success, our awesome alumni, stellar research, and so much more.

In this special parents’ Back to School” edition of the Fulbright REVIEW, we are featuring top insiders’ tips on how students can succeed at college. Check it out and be sure to share them!

Then visit the Fulbright College-based Living Learning Communities that are part of the newest U of A residence hall – all with an emphasis on the arts and innovation.

Learn how the Department of History has partnered with the Accelerate Student Achievement Program to help first-generation and Pell-eligible students from the Arkansas Delta accelerate academic success, college completion and career readiness.

You also can meet 23 of our new Fulbright College tenured or tenure-track faculty, as well as the four recipients of the 2019 Sturgis Fellowships. These are among Arkansas’ best and brightest students, and this is the university’s oldest and one of its most prestigious fellowships!

Our alumni also are up to great things, like mentoring students who dream of working in the U.S. capital.

And our focus on service to others remains strong – as evidenced by this anthropology, Latin American studies and biology major who hopes to work for an international nonprofit, and this honors political science junior, who is passionate about political activism, mentoring and helping fellow students succeed.

You also can meet this year’s 2019-2020 Razorback Marching Band drum majors!

We’re so excited for the year ahead, to keep providing you with new stories at fulbrightreview.uark.edu continuously, and to keep showcasing the most interesting features in our monthly email round ups so you never miss the inside scoop.

We hope you’ll subscribe, stay tuned and continue to enjoy the blog. And, if you have a great story idea or know someone you’d like us to feature, please email us at fulbcomm@uark.edu or submit your own post.

Sincerely,

Todd Shields, Dean of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
