It’s shaping up to be a fantastic fall here at the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences – one filled with student success, awesome alumni, stellar research, and so much more that we’re excited to share with you in the Fulbright REVIEW!

To kick things off, we hope you’ll check out the latest story in our student success series, featuring tips from an award-winning, faculty-penned book on some of the most pressing issues facing college students today.

And speaking of student success, we just named five talented, driven Arkansas freshmen as our 2020 Sturgis Fellows! It’s one of the university’s highest honors that comes with a $72,000 award.

Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic still remains top of mind and now in addition to updates available through the U of A’s site, our own School of Journalism and Strategic Media is running another great resource, Arkansascovid.com – giving students hands-on data journalism experience.

On the faculty front, we were recently awarded a $1 million grant to better recruit and retain women faculty, and announced the outstanding 2020 winners of Fulbright College’s annual teaching and research faculty awards. A big congratulations to all!

In awesome alumni news, one of our graduates recently landed a publishing deal for her magical new young adult trilogy, another’s photographs are part of a an amazing exhibition this month, and one created three endowments to provide scholarships and support for students!

Additionally, this month we’ve also got a great behind-the-scenes look at film making and studies on campus, and thanks to a virtual birthday bash, a grassroots effort to honor and remember a beloved educator has reached endowment, ensuring support in perpetuity for anthropology students and faculty.

If you’d like to learn more about all the fantastic people, initiatives, projects and activities that make up Fulbright College, please visit our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Our handle is @uarkfulbright on all three.
