Welcome to the October 2018 Round Up of the Fulbright REVIEW Blog

by | Oct 22, 2018 | Announcements, Dean's Corner

You know what they say, third time’s the charm! And with this third edition of the new Fulbright REVIEW blog roundup, we are excited to continue to share with you all the wonderful things our Fulbright Family have been up to.

Here at the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, we just reached an exciting milestone in our School of Journalism and Strategic Media when the new Sue Walk Burnett Journalism and Student Media Center opened!

We also named the extraordinary musical legend Al Bell the college and Department of Music’s McIlroy Family Visiting Professor, and are excited to share this story of how “a single man with a hunger for knowledge, and two milk cows, can create a legacy.”

Then, check out this video featuring one of our researchers, who is focused on finding solutions for mitochondrial disease, and meet a triple-major studying criminal justice, sociology and the Middle East.

This month’s Q&As also feature the multilingual founder of the Biliteracy Project, a staff member who is dedicated to helping students succeed, and an amazing alumnus whose time at Fulbright College ultimately helped lead to a career in ocean conservation communications.

And, as always, remember that more new stories are posted at fulbrightreview.uark.edu weekly, and our monthly email round ups will continue to showcase some of the most interesting features so you never miss having the inside scoop.

We hope you’ll stay tuned, and continue to enjoy the blog. And, if you have a great story idea or know someone you’d like for us to feature, please email us at fulbcomm@uark.edu or submit your own post.

Sincerely,

Todd Shields, Dean of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
