Welcome to the November 2018 Round Up of the Fulbright REVIEW Blog
It’s a great month to express gratitude, and nothing makes me more thankful than being able to connect with you – our Fulbright Family – through the Fulbright REVIEW!
Here at the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas we have so very much to be grateful for.
For example, when the State Department’s J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board recently visited and we reached a new milestone in our shared partnership. Read all about it here, and don’t miss the pictures and video!
Then, be sure to check out the School of Art’s Language as Medium exhibition in our Fine Arts Gallery, which will be sure to provoke thoughts about the modern ways we communicate.
This month, we also named two impressive incoming freshmen 2018 Jessamy Eve Samuels Memorial Scholarship recipients, and caught up with a retired colleague who shares what it’s like to change your identity after 41 years.
If you haven’t already, be sure you meet the man behind our college’s scholarship process, and one of our students who plays the oboe and loves all music from Gregorian chant to the Beatles.
Then see how a recent alumnus landed his dream job teaching, and meet a faculty member whose work blends mathematical sciences with creative expression.
And, as always, remember that more new stories are posted at fulbrightreview.uark.edu continuously, and our monthly email round ups will keep showcasing the most interesting features so you never miss the inside scoop.
We hope you’ll stay tuned, and continue to enjoy the blog. And, if you have a great story idea or know someone you’d like for us to feature, please email us at fulbcomm@uark.edu or submit your own post.
Sincerely,
Todd Shields, Dean of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
