With Thanksgiving just around the corner it’s a great time to reflect on and express gratitude, and nothing makes me more thankful than being able to connect with you – our Fulbright College Family!

In the spirit of saying thank you and expressing our appreciation, this November Fulbright REVIEW is full of impactful stories about giving, scholarship recipients, research, and some of the amazing folks who make our Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences so incredible.

Because it is our phenomenal people – who are striving to fulfill our mission and better our world – that make our university such a meaningful place to learn, grow, work, and belong to.

So, let’s kick things off by meeting one such awesome alumnus, who has made a positive impact on the university for nearly seven decades!

Then, get to know the leader of our new Office of Undergraduate Excellence and Global Engagement, a researcher whose goal is to make sure you get a good night’s sleep, and this double-major who placed first in a national hackathon.

Next, meet three amazing students who are making their dreams come true thanks to our donors, nine Arkansans who won foundation-funded awards, and enjoy these festive fall scenes of campus.

Afterward, see how we’ve been celebrating National Native American Heritage Month, and get the scoop on the two-time alumna named director of our Veteran and Military-Affiliated Student Center.

On the event front, we also just completed our International Education Week festivities, crowned a new Homecoming Queen and King, and released the results of the 25th Arkansas Poll.

Our Schola Cantorum also won a national prize for their viral video cover of an ‘80s anthem, our graduate students are working to stop future pandemics, and one of our researchers discovered what women are looking for in potential partners.

You can also help us congratulate six students who won big at a criminal justice conference, nine students who swept a state music competition, and the speech and debate students who earned 16 tournament awards!

Next, join this group of undergraduates and this group of grad students as they explore new math research opportunities, and cheer on this theatre professor for winning a prestigious design award.

Don’t forget to meet this international student who found a new academic love during the pandemic, and this duo who released a new album that blends art, improvisation and technology.

You can also learn about the amazing literacy organizations we’re supporting, and how this biologist is helping us better understand cancer metastasis and impaired wound healing.

Afterward, help celebrate this musical trio – one who won a creative grant, one who won a national soloist prize, and one who is heading abroad as an artist-in-residence!

One of our faculty members was also named a Math Teacher of the Year, while two others won distinguished leadership, research and teaching awards.

As if that weren’t enough, one of our professors won a duo of research awards, another won a national mentoring award, and a third faculty member won dissertation recognition.

Finally, help us commemorate the life of a professor emeritus who served the college for more than 26 years and was a renowned expert on foreign policies.

And, if you’d like to learn more about the extraordinary people, initiatives, projects and activities that make up Fulbright College, please visit our FacebookTwitter / X, Instagram or LinkedIn social media channels. Our handle is @uarkfulbright on all.
