Welcome to the June 2023 Round Up of the Fulbright REVIEW Blog
Summer is in full swing here at the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences!
And while the academic year may have come to a close, so much is still happening that we can’t wait to share with you.
June is also special because it’s when we celebrate Pride Month and commemorate Juneteenth. See how our college’s Inclusive Excellence team reaffirms Fulbright College’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion every day.
In this month’s Fulbright REVIEW, we also highlight some of our amazing students and alumni, as well as the phenomenal instructors, teachers, and researchers who continue to give their all.
To kick things off, check out our student-run record label’s latest album featuring the first African American woman to achieve national recognition as a composer.
Then, meet a physicist who won not one but two prestigious career awards, and the students who were selected for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program!
You can also see how our biliteracy children’s program ended the year with an immersive VR experience, and learn more about the mental health resources we offer our campus community.
Next, meet an alumna ambassador for biological sciences doctoral work, a political science faculty superstar, and the newest members of our classical studies and liberal arts honors societies!
Then, help us congratulate the latest students commissioned as U.S. Army officers, and two global studies majors who received highly competitive foreign language fellowships.
Congratulations also go out to these amazing faculty members who were awarded student success grants, this professor elected president of a national association, and these instructors who earned teaching excellence micro-credentials!
After that, check out the unique final exam that our second-year experience class had, meet a sophomore STEM triple major, and learn about a project connecting social scientists to crime analytics.
You can also learn about the recent art works performance project, hear a chamber music recording 30-plus years in the making, and read about a historian’s work on colonial Mozambique.
Afterward, meet the alumni and students receiving NSF graduate research fellowships, two communication faculty who won media festival awards, and this class that collaborated on historical research with the City of Fayetteville!
Finally, if you’d like to learn more about the extraordinary people, initiatives, projects and activities that make up Fulbright College, please visit our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Our handle is @uarkfulbright on all three.
And, as always, we’ll keep providing you with more new stories at fulbrightreview.uark.edu. We hope you’ll stay tuned.
