The sun is out, and summer is in full swing at the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences! And while we are enjoying the warm Fayetteville weather, we still have so much to share with you as we also gear up for fall.

This June 2022 edition of the Fulbright REVIEW highlights some of our outstanding instructors and researchers who give their all, as well as some fantastic students, new graduates and their impressive achievements.

June is also full of great events – like Pride Month and Juneteenth, so be sure to check out how the U of A recently celebrated both.

Then, meet the first U of A faculty member asked to join the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a student who won one of the nation’s most competitive fellowships for STEM study!

You can also learn more about the students and faculty who are part of the newly created NWA Film Cycle initiative, and the 21 accomplished Fulbright College faculty who were selected as the 2022 class of Connor Faculty Fellows.

Next, meet an alumnus who created a new scholarship for studying sports media, and a quartet of friends who are creating scholarships honoring a Razorback Marching Band legend!

Afterward, get to know an alumna who is one of only 10 people selected to receive a Marshall-Motley Scholars full-ride law school scholarship, and this professor who recently won a Fulbright U.S. Scholarship to teach and conduct research in Peru.

Then, meet two professors who received summer stipends from the National Endowment for the Humanities to support their upcoming books, and this academic superstar who is the U of A’s new faculty athletics representative!

You can also make plans to visit the Pryor Center for this upcoming lecture on the Delta Blues, and check out this episode of PBS’s Now Hear This, which features U of A’s Inspirational Chorale and two music professors.

Next, meet a student who is interning at The New York Times this summer, and several student journalists who recently took top honors at this year’s regional SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards.

Additionally, learn how this biologist is working to conserve and restore a critical habitat in the Ozarks, and help congratulate this data sciences student who won accolades for her research!

Finally, if you’d like to learn more about the extraordinary people, initiatives, projects and activities that make up Fulbright College, please visit our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Our handle is @uarkfulbright on all three.

And, as always, we’ll keep providing you with more new stories at fulbrightreview.uark.edu. We hope you’ll stay tuned.

In the meantime, please keep in touch, take care and be well!
