Welcome to the August 2019 Round Up of the Fulbright REVIEW Blog

As the new academic year begins, we are so excited to share all of the amazing U of A J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences news and happenings with you – our Fulbright Family!

August also marks a full year since we launched the award-winning Fulbright REVIEW, which each month is jam-packed full of stories highlighting our awesome alumni, stellar research, student success, and so much more.

In this special “Back to School” edition of the Fulbright REVIEW, we’re featuring top insiders’ tips on how students can succeed at college. Check it out and be sure to share them!

You also can meet 22 of our new Fulbright College tenured or tenure-track faculty, as well as the four recipients of the 2019 Sturgis Fellowships. These are among some of Arkansas’ best and brightest students, and this is the university’s oldest and one of its most prestigious fellowships!

Then, catch up with this Geosciences faculty member who received a 2019-20 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award! He’ll be heading to Slovenia to continue his research on the impact of cave ventilation on the rates and patterns of cave development. 

Also be sure to see how the Department of History has partnered with the Accelerate Student Achievement Program to help first-generation and Pell-eligible students from the Arkansas Delta accelerate academic success, college completion and career readiness. 

Afterward, meet the new director of the college’s Terrorism Research Center, this amazing administrator who has worked in the Fulbright College Honors Program for 17 years, and a School of Social Work faculty member who helps students find the courage to try things outside of their comfort zones!
