Kátia Fernandes, a climate scientist and an assistant professor of geosciences, was interviewed by the Arkansas PBS podcast series The Growing Season to discuss the climate and weather drivers of the July heat wave in Arkansas.

The podcast episode was titled “The Heat Is On.” In it, farmers describe the impacts of the record high temperature and deficient precipitation in their activities. Fernandes complements the discussion by describing the drivers behind the unusual July climate.
