The University of Arkansas’ student-run record label, Hill Records, is excited to announce a new services division that will offer music industry marketing and promotion to artists from and within Arkansas.

Through this division, U of A students will now be able to work with musicians throughout the state to create marketing campaigns, book gigs and tours, engage in digital and social media promotion, and work toward developing artists at all levels.

Through the new services division, artists will be able to engage student teams from Hill Records to work directly as agents, managers and producers, at a variety of different levels.

“This new division brings our students more deeply in contact with artists across the music ecosystem in Arkansas, and further develops the experiential learning component of the Hill Records project,” said faculty advisor Jake Hertzog.

The mission of Hill Records aligns with that of the University of Arkansas in its commitment to service. As a pedagogical music industry project that aims to advance the land-grant mission of the university, Hill Records is dedicated to elevating the work of Arkansas musicians and increasing access to music business opportunities for creatives across the state.

“This innovative new development from Hill Records allows the U of A to advance its service mission and contribute more deeply to the music industry in Arkansas, while engaging in economic development in the arts. We are so excited to give our students more chances to work with musical talent all around our state,” said Mike Malone, vice chancellor for economic development.

Students involved in Hill Records come from a wide variety of majors, and involvement in the project is open to all U of A enrolled students.

“Our team is thrilled about the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of artists and showcase the many talents of U of A students while gaining more hands-on experience in the music industry,” said current Hill Records President Drew Bethell.

Hill Records’ services are available to artists at all levels in all genres, and initial inquiries may be made via the website at hillrecords.uark.edu under services.
