Wander-Thirst: The Choral Music of Florence Price, a world-premiere album of the choral music of Florence Price recorded by the Schola Cantorum and released by Hill Records, has surpassed 25,000 worldwide streams on Spotify and was recently awarded 3rd Place in the 2024 Ernst Bacon Award for the Performance of American Music from The American Prize.

The Ernst Bacon Award is special in that its scope is not limited to a specific genre or ensemble type, so the breadth of competition is significant and diversely varied. It recognizes and rewards the best performances of American music by ensembles and individual artists worldwide, based on submitted recordings. Focused exclusively on works by American composers from any period and in any style, the contest not only judges performances, but in the case of new or unfamiliar works, the music itself.

Schola Cantorum is currently working on a second volume of Price’s choral music focusing on her spiritual arrangements.

Wander-Thirst: The Choral Music of Florence Price is currently streaming on all platforms.
