Meet Brenton Perry, who thanks to the Dr. Harold D. Hantz Scholarship, is one step closer to his dream of attending a top-notch law school and working in public interest law.

Dr. Harold D. Hantz Scholarship Recipient Brenton Perry

Name: Brenton Perry
Hometown: West Fork, Arkansas
Graduation: 2025
Major(s)/Minor(s): Majoring in Philosophy and Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies

Activities and Interests: In my spare time I enjoy playing board games with my spouse, reading, writing, and building computers.

Career Aspirations: After I graduate, I’m planning on attending law school. I’m hoping to be able to get into one of the top 20 schools, and from there I want to work in public interest law.

In his own words:

Dear Dr. Spikes, Dear Dr. & Mrs. Brown Jr.,

Thank you for giving to the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas in support of the Dr. Harold D. Hantz Scholarship.

My name is Brenton Perry, and I was recently notified that I have been selected as the 2024 recipient of this award. Thank you for making this award possible through your generous donation.

I’m currently a senior pursuing a philosophy and political science double major here at the University of Arkansas, and I’m hoping to attend one of the top 20 law schools once I finish my undergraduate coursework.

After law school, I’m hoping to secure an Assistant United States Attorney position.

I already work part time (approximately 20 hours per week) to help pay for my educational expenses, and because of this scholarship award, I can breathe a little easier knowing that I don’t have to figure out how to cram more hours into my already busy schedule to cover the hundreds of dollars in law school application fees that are just around the corner.

This award means I am one step closer to achieving my dream of attending a top-notch law school.

Thank you for your generous support of the Dr. Harold D. Hantz Scholarship through the Fullbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

Sincerely,

Brenton Perry
