This January, members of our Fulbright College Family are sharing expressions of gratitude, letters of thanks and their appreciation for those who have helped make their educational journey possible.

Meet Savannah Scott, who thanks to the School of Art Scholarship, is one step closer to her dream of running her own business as a graphic designer and photographer.

School of Art Scholarship Recipient Savannah Scott

Name: Savannah Scott
Hometown: Mountain Home, AR
Graduation: 2025
Major(s)/Minor(s): Majoring in Graphic Design, and minoring in Business

Activities/Interests: I have always loved the fine arts. I became interested in music and art at a young age. I started band in the 6th grade and have since been part of the band program for seven years playing the alto saxophone. Aside from the arts, I love all things outdoors. I love hiking, camping, kayaking, and just soaking up the sun.

Career Aspirations: I hope to one day start and run my own business and be a freelance graphic designer and photographer.

In her own words:

Dear Friends of the University of Arkansas,

Thank you for supporting the School of Art Scholarship. I was recently notified by Lea Sutherland, the Scholarship Coordinator of the School of Art, that I am the 2021 recipient of the School of Art Scholarship, and I am extremely grateful for the recognition and the support.

I consider it an honor to represent this named award and thank you for your vote of confidence.

I graduated from Mountain Home High School in May 2021, and I am an incoming Freshman for the fall of 2021. Eventually, I’d like to start and run my own business as a graphic designer. My senior year at the University of Arkansas I hope to obtain a Graphic Design internship to get a head start on my career.

I have worked a part-time job since 2019 (10-25 hours a week) to pay my own way through school, but because of this scholarship award, I think I will finally be able to spend more time studying and focusing on being in the Razorback Marching Band.

Thanks again for giving to Fulbright College and for helping to make my dreams come true. This college has provided me with an incredible education, and I really appreciate the opportunities both you and Fulbright College have provided to me.

Sincerely,

Savannah Ashlynn Scott
