In her own words:

Thank you for your support through the Dr. Harold D. Hantz Scholarship Fund.

I was recently informed by the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences that I am the 2020 recipient of the Dr. Harold D. Hantz Scholarship Fund. As a student of philosophy and a member of the Honors College, I am exceptionally honored to be the recipient of the award that bears Dr. Hantz’s name.

I am a senior at the University of Arkansas, pursuing a double major in English and philosophy. My undergraduate thesis work is in philosophy, under Dr. Eric Funkhouser.

Following the completion of my undergraduate studies, I hope to serve the international community on a Fulbright Scholarship. I aspire to be a law librarian, so I am planning to attend a combined JD/MLIS program after my work abroad is finished.

I have been the benefactor of donors throughout my time at the University of Arkansas, but this award is especially meaningful to me.

Being recognized by my faculty and the Fulbright College is an incredible privilege. I believe that being acknowledged with this award will, without question, help me to achieve my goals going forward.

Again, thank you so much for your generosity towards the Fulbright College and for helping me to achieve my goals and aspirations.

I have received an amazing education and loved my time as a student of this college. I earnestly appreciate all of the opportunities both you and the Fulbright College have made possible for me.

Sincerely,

Victoria Mantel
