Faculty Senate Celebrates Linda Jones for 20 Years as Secretary
Linda Jones, chair of the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, is stepping away from her role as the secretary of the Faculty Senate, a role in which she has served since 2002. During her 20-year tenure as secretary, she has been a model of responsibility, reliability and compassionate leadership.
The secretary of the senate is charged with keeping the minutes and agendas of regular business, as well as maintaining the extensive archive of materials on the senate website. The secretary is also a member of the Senate Executive Committee.
“Our faculty senate is what it is today because of Linda Jones,” says Stephen Caldwell, current Faculty Senate chair. “Her astute organization, steadfast reliability and gentle ear made our meetings run smoothly and efficiently year after year. She is a model of faculty service on our campus.”
The Faculty Senate wishes her the best as she assumes her new role as chair of Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures. On behalf of all senators, past and present, thank you!
