Dionne Wins Jennifer Bender Rookie Advisor of the Year Award

Terrell Jake Dionne, assistant professor in the Department of Communication, was named the recipient of the 2023 Jennifer Bender Rookie Advisor of the Year Award by the National Communication Association at the 109th Annual NCA Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. 

The Rookie Advisor of the Year award recognizes the advisor who has served three years or less and has dedicated their time, energy and service to the student members of their LPH chapter and best manifested the goals of Lambda Pi Eta.

Dionne holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Colorado Boulder. He specializes in environmental communication and rhetorical studies. His research provides insight into how organizations strategically remember and forget the past, painting a picture of diverse stakeholders communicating about environmental and social justice. He teaches classes on these subjects in the contexts of activism, business, law, policy and everyday life. He also serves as the faculty advisor for the Alpha chapter of Lambda Pi Eta.
