Welcome to the November 2022 Round Up of the Fulbright REVIEW Blog
November is an ideal time to reflect on all we are grateful for, and for me, it’s especially meaningful to spend this season of thanksgiving with all of you – the amazing folks who make our Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences such an incredible place!
In this edition of the Fulbright REVIEW we’re also excited to share the latest news about some of the many impactful gifts, impressive scholarship recipients, ground-breaking research and fantastic people who are the heart and soul of our college. Read on for more!
First, check out a special scholarship fund that has helped 66 students in financial need make sure their bright futures aren’t derailed, and learn about a new public education and art space on campus that “rocks” and will serve as a living lab.
You can also help us recognize 15 talented students, faculty and alumni who won 2022 Artists 360 Awards, and more than 225 outstanding Connor Fellows who recently gathered to honor the fellowship’s namesake creators.
Then, meet Reid Pinckard, Jordyn Lassiter, and Matteo Campagnola, who thanks to three scholarships and the donors who created them, are each one step closer to making their educational and career dreams come true!
Afterward, get to know the new director of the World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio, our 2022 Homecoming Queen and King who are both superb Fulbright College students, and a stellar senior communications, sociology and criminology major recently named Student Leader of the Month.
On the event front, help honor the culture, history, and triumphs of Indigenous peoples during National Native American Heritage Month, celebrate International Education Week, and cheer on more than 260 examinees taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
We’d also love for you to meet a wonderful biology and chemistry double major who is well on his way to making it to Senior Walk, the incredible staff member named Employee of the Year, an awesome professor featured in a series of communication training videos, and a foremost expert in the field of Clifford analysis who is retiring soon.
Next, find out what tops the list of concerns for Arkansas voters, learn about the atomic configuration of two-atom-thick paraelectric materials in electronics, and see how we recently hosted 150 art historians and showcased art in Northwest Arkansas!
Finally, if you’d like to learn more about the extraordinary people, initiatives, projects and activities that make up Fulbright College, please visit our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Our handle is @uarkfulbright on all three.
