Undergraduate Mock Trial Team Celebrates Standout Performances at Regionals
This past weekend all four Undergraduate Mock Trial teams competed at the American Mock Trial Association’s regional tournaments.
Competing in a pool of over 650 teams, the U A’s A team of Thomas Davis, Bryton Miller, Julianna Kantner, Angel Anguiano, Emory White, Madalyn Acton, Payton Willhite and Vasoula Drosopoulos, coached by Corey Anderson and Jose Ruiz, qualified to the Open Round Championship Series and will be among the 192 teams who advance in the national tournament structure.
The U of A’s B team of Katherine Calandro, Cameron Willis, Caitlyn Hager, Daisy Rehbock, Derek Fisher, Harrison Merrick, Luke Hubbard, Matthew Pollard and Zoee Simpson, coached by Katelyn Sholk and Charles Magill, was acknowledged as an honorable mention at their regional tournament and still has an opportunity to advance to ORCS as well.
Standout performers Davis, Kantner and Faith Carter were recognized as All Regional Attorneys. Meanwhile, Rehbock was recognized as an All Regional Attorney and Witness. We are so proud of these students coming one step closer to nationals and wish them luck as they prepare for the Open Round Championship Series.
