Join the U of A’s 150th Anniversary Celebration This Fall
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the University of Arkansas, the campus and greater community are invited to participate in Come as You Arkansas – an all-day progressive style event to highlight the university’s mission, vision, history and future.
Come as You Arkansas will take place Friday, Sept. 10 and is open to all who wish to attend – from alumni to new visitors, families, faculty and staff.
Events will occur in a variety of buildings, outdoor spaces and venues throughout the day. Be sure to check out all of the awesome events hosted by our own Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences as well!
The day’s festivities will allow attendees to explore campus, learning from students, faculty and staff about the university’s innovative ideas, research and far-reaching impact.
Fulbright College’s events are listed below, and a full slate of university-wide events can be found on the Come as You Arkansas website.
Participants can “come as they are” – meaning to dress comfy and casual with Razorback attire encouraged (but not required).
To help get in the celebratory mood, be sure to brush up on your U of A Traditions, including:
Finding out how we became the Razorbacks
Seeing how our logo has changed over the year
Meeting Tusk, our live mascot
Making sure you know how to Call the Hogs
Learning why Senior Walk is the place to be – and finding your name
Visiting Spoofer’s Stone for a little romance
You can also do a deep dive into the U of A’s history, check out historical photos on the U of A’s timeline, and meet some of the trailblazers who have called the U of A home.
Then, head over to our Fulbright College site, where you can meet Dean Shields, check out our Mission and Values, and learn more about diversity, equity and inclusion at the college.
And, if you’d like to be a part of a student’s success story in the making, consider giving to our Fulbright College Dean’s Emergency Student Retention Fund to help students achieve their educational goals when facing unforeseen financial challenges.
