How has Sen. J. William Fulbright’s legacy impacted you?

What are your thoughts on Fulbright’s presence on the U of A campus?

What are your thoughts on Charles Brough’s presence on the U of A campus?

These are the questions a new committee formed by University of Arkansas Chancellor Joe Steinmetz would like you to help answer.

The committee – which has been asked to evaluate J. William Fulbright and Charles Brough’s presence on our campus – aims to gather multiple and differing constituency views, and to ultimately provide a recommendation to the Chancellor for how and if their presence should be recognized on campus.

Specifically, the committee has been asked to make recommendations regarding the Fulbright statue on campus, about the name of the university’s Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, and to consider the renaming of the campus’ Charles Hillman Brough Commons.

The committee invites anyone who would like to do so to share their thoughts, stories, experiences, perspective or feedback on these topics to please complete this online form.

To learn more about Fulbright, please visit this site, watch this recent Town Hall video, or visit the University of Arkansas Libraries’ Special Collection of J. William Fulbright Papers online.

The committee will be seeking feedback via the online form now through Nov. 1.
