German Student Receives National Study Abroad Scholarship
Esther Heckmann, a sophomore German and business management major, has been selected as a recipient of the 2018 Study Abroad Scholarship from Delta Phi Alpha Deutsche Ehrenverbindung, the National German Honors Society.
This grant is highly competitive and awarded to only a few students nationally who are both honors students and studying abroad in a German-speaking country.
Heckmann was inducted into the society in 2018, and will use her scholarship to study at the University of Regensburg, where she will take classes and conduct preliminary research for her Honors College thesis on NGOs in Germany and their role in assisting the government in responding to the refugee crisis.
She additionally received an Honors College grant for her upcoming studies in Regensburg.
